South African Sport & Arts Hall of Fame (SASAHOF), a vision of rugby star Naas Botha, is dedicated to identifying and shaping great performers and sports persons by recognising their talent and celebrating their achievements. In early October 2011, it launched the interactive Hall Of Fame exhibition with Soccer City precinct as its new permanent home.

"This is a passion that I have carried for years and we have now created opportunities for everyone to join us, as we build our nation and celebrate success," says Botha.
Jacaranda 94.2 is the official radio partner to SASAHOF and will support its next big event, the first SASAHOF Golf Challenge, sponsored by Cipla, 3-4 November 2011. This event will take place on the Jack Nicklaus Signature Serengeti Golf Course in Johannesburg.
Previous sports and arts ambassadors invited
SASAHOF has invited previous South African sports and arts ambassadors to select teams to play in this event. These ambassadors have in turn invited other players to join their team. Among the 144 celebrity players are Naas Botha, Victor Matfield, Roland Schoeman, Schalk Burger, Ryk Neethling, Brian Mitchell, Mark Williams, Marc Boucher, Lucas Radebe and Baby Jake.
Jacaranda 94.2 will be broadcasting live from the event, moving an audience in excess of 2.3 million across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and North West to support this initiative.
"Passionate about sport and arts in SA"
"It's no secret that the station and its audiences are passionate about sport and arts in South Africa. Not only is it a natural match for us to join forces for this initiative, but also a privilege to be involved in something that marks a defining moment for South African sport and arts - both past and present," says Kevin Fine, station manager at Jacaranda 94.2.
SASAHOF aims to create a lasting legacy of great South Africans, which honours individuals in sport and art who have made outstanding contributions. It also wishes to educate the public about the origin, development and growth of sport and the arts as a part of South African culture, promote the positive values of sport and the arts to society, preserve sport and art historical documents and artefacts and inspire the next generation to sport and art greatness.
